My interest in art began as a young child. Fascinated by the lives of Michelangelo and Leonardo DaVinci I discovered how as young men they had progressed from being painters to sculptors and ultimately to being Architects. I was captivated by this romantic vision. The potential for artistic expression in painting, sculpture and architecture seemed limitless to me, an ideal platform in which to combine visual, sculptural and practical composition.

Excelling at art in school during my childhood, in 1984 I attained the required college entry grades and I enrolled in a three year Honours Degree course in Architecture and then a two year post graduate course in Huddersfield Polytechnic.

Returning to Gibraltar in June 1990 I began a career in architecture but continued to draw almost weekly at Life Drawing sessions.

In January 2014 after receiving commissions on a regular basis during the previous few years I made the decision to pursue art on a full time basis.


I am a regular participator in competitions and exhibitions and have obtained numerous ‘Highly Commended’ Awards.

They include the following:

  • First Prize 2021 Gibraltar Spring Visual Arts Competition, Painting Section and Overall Prize Winner
  • First Prize 2021 The Our Gibraltar Art Award Painting Section
  • First Prize 2019 Gibraltar Spring Visual Arts Competition, Painting Section
  • Participated in the 2017 SkyArts Landscape Artist Of The Year television program
  • First Prize 2017 Gibraltar Heritage Trust Outdoor Painting and Drawing Competition
  • Second Prize 2017 Gibraltar Spring Visual Arts Competition Painting Section
